What is Bare Minerals Foundation?

 

Bare Escentuals is a company that sells Bare Minerals, Buxom, and MD Formulations products. Bare Minerals are foundation and skincare products. Currently Bare Minerals sells 3 Foundations: Original Foundation (loose powder), Matte Foundation (loose powder), and READY Foundation (compact). All 3 of Bare Mineral Foundations are unique just like all different types and tones of skin. So you want to know which one is right for you?

 

Bare Minerals Original Foundation

(loose powder) basically is applied in the swirl, tap, buff technique. What it does is adds luminosity to your skin. So if you have normal skin, dry skin, or dull looking skin; the Original Foundation is perfect for you.

It blends in nicely with your skin depending on your tone (cool, warm, neutral). Also if you usually don't wear make-up the Original Foundation is great because it has SPF 15 which is nice to protect your skin from harmful sun rays. Also the 5 minerals  are always good to put back into your skin.

 

Bare Minerals Matte Foundation

(loose powder) is also applied in the Swirl Tap Buff technique. What this one does is takes the shine away. So if you have oily skin or combination skin this is great for you because it absorbs the excess moisture and shine.

Also if you have problem prone skin or acne the Matte foundation is perfect since it contains Active Soil Complex which increases cell turn-over, decreases the size of pores, and puts antioxidants back into your skin. I personally LOVE the Matte foundation! I have problem prone skin and definately get sweaty and shiny easily!

 

Bare Minerals READY Foundation

(compact) keeps your skin looking natural, it does not add luminosity or take it away. Also it is applied totally differently! DO NOT use the Swirl Tap Buff method on this one! It is really spreadable. Just tap the tip of your brush on the compact (enough to pick up very little product on the ends!) and swirl all over your face. This one gets tricky for you BE loose powder lovers!

The READY foundation is perfect for people with dry skin. The READY foundation has Humic Acid and Glycerin which helps moisturize the skin. It also has the Sea Nutritive Mineral Complex which has positively charged nutrients from Seaweed and Algae. Also the READY foundation is cold pressed with Rose Hip Seed oil, which has Vitamins A and C, anti-aging benefits for your skin.

 

That’s the basics of the 3 different Bare Minerals foundation.

 

Which one is right for you?

I would say the one that fits your skin the best! Everyone has totally different skin types and tones; you may love one foundation but not so much the others.

I say look for a local BE boutique, store, or spa that sells BE products (you can find it on their website under “Store Locator”) and ask to have the foundations put on your face, walk around for a day, and look in a mirror outside (sunlight)to pick the one you like best.

If you don’t have a local store, or the time to do that, I would first recommend what type of result you want your foundation to give you, and then I would recommend what was notated earlier and going by skin type!

For instance, if you have oily skin you may not like the READY foundation as much as the Matte. If you have dry skin, you may LOVE the READY foundation over the original or the matte.
